Goodbye Halloween, helllllloo Holiday Season!
Can you tell I am really excited about this time of year? Like many of the stores, I am already getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas! As we move quickly towards the most exciting holidays of the year (at least in my opinion :D), some of us may also be feeling a little stressed. Along with the holidays comes entertaining, and with entertaining comes a lot of work preparing food, drinks, and entertainment. This week’s Sunday Supper topic is “Easy Holiday Entertaining” to give you some stress-free holiday recipe ideas. This peppermint hot chocolate recipe is one of my go-to holiday entertaining recipes, because it is super quick and easy to make, and completely fool proof!
Since we are already fighting off those extra pounds left and right during the holiday season, my peppermint hot chocolate recipe is a “skinny version” since it doesn’t require the use of heavy cream. For best results, use whole or 2% milk. I find that anything lower makes it taste a little watery.
A fun way to decorate your peppermint hot chocolate just before serving on a tray to your guests is topping them with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and crushed candy canes. I also stick a mini candy cane in the side of the glass to melt into the chocolate and for guests to enjoy while sipping their peppermint hot chocolate. It gives the hot chocolate even more peppermint flavor.
I would love to hear your go-to stress-free holiday entertaining recipes! Tell me in the comments below. 🙂

Gorgeous but I think I will use peppermint schnapps instead of the extract and make it an adult hot chocolate.
Nice idea!
This looks a heck of a lot better than the schnapps spiked Swiss Miss we used to drink in college! A perfect treat for Christmas morning!
Haha, thanks Liz!
Wow!!! I love this. So pretty and so decadent!
Thanks Constance! Happy Holidays 😉
So festive lookng!
Thank you!
The chocolate syrup and peppermint bits really put this one over the top!
yay yay yayyy! I can’t wait for Christmas! And this hot chocolate looks delicious and perfect!
I didn’t know you were part of #SundaySupper. Welcome to the family. Your hot chocolate looks delish. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season.
This is my favorite flavor during the winter season. YUM!
I wonder how almond milk would work in this as well. It’s definitely low cal. Regardless, this looks worth some extra calories.
